We are excited to announce that, thanks to Nobody, we have successfully updated our servers with the new YOB Mod, fully developed by him. This project is entirely his work, and we are just proud to be able to run it on our servers.

All of our servers will now run the same modification, built specifically for the YOB community and fully developed by Nobody. Until now, we have been using “New Experience,” a widely used server-side mod. However, we have noticed a steady decline in player numbers over time, and we believe this mod played a role in that.

Over the past few weeks, a brand new solution has been developed and tested with the goal of bringing our servers back to life.

Introducing: YOB Mod

  • Extra hardpoints
  • $fps, $fov, $film, and $unlock commands
  • Unlock your account instantly with a single command
  • In-game real-time performance stats
  • Continuous community advertisements (Discord link)
  • New map vote system
  • First kill animation
  • Visual killcards for every kill (displayed below the “You killed XY” message)
  • Humanized AI
  • Fully configurable
  • …and more

Introducing: Nektum Shield

All servers will now be protected by this system.

Nektum Shield is currently one of the most advanced anti-cheat systems available for CoD4X. It is designed to collect and analyze player data to ensure a fair and secure gaming experience.

Everyone is equal, everyone is safe. From this moment on, we are redefining security for this game. This project took six months of continuous work, with over 1,000 hours of development and testing.

A special thanks goes to Nobody for creating this system, and to all YOB community members who contributed with feedback and support.

Nektum Shield is part of the Nektum Ecosystem. All rights reserved. Developed by Nobody.

What We Are Keeping

The server structure will remain the same. For example, the “Crossfire Only” server will stay “Crossfire Only.”

We are simply replacing “New Experience” with this new mod and anti-cheat system, especially considering the recent increase in hacking activity.

The mod is currently version 1.1, so it is still in development. If you encounter any bugs or have requests, feel free to reply here or reach out on Discord.

We hope this update will help bring the servers back to being as active as before. A special thanks goes to Nobody for the incredible work, dedication, and development behind this mod that made all of this possible.

In the coming weeks, a new update is planned with the following features:

  • The third script command will enable third-person mode.
  • Reaching a 50 killstreak will trigger a nuke, killing all players and instantly ending the match.
  • An in-game menu will be available to change weapon loadouts.
Additional options may be added as well.
  • A visual notification of players' killstreaks will be shown to everyone, starting from a 10 killstreak, to avoid screen spam.

We are happy to share the latest update of the YOB Mod, fully developed by Nobody. Version 1.2 introduces several new features and improvements across all servers.

Added ammo counter in the bottom right corner
Real-time stats now change color depending on your performance (all green means great performance)
Added $3rd command which enables third-person mode, so you can now play that way if you prefer
Added $cac command which opens the create-a-class menu. Changes are applied after a /reconnect or a map rotation
Killstreak 50 now unlocks the Nuke Bomb. When used, all enemy players die and the game ends instantly
Killstreaks and killing sprees now display a visual feedback text to all players after a 10 kill streak at the top center of the screen

The engine does not allow real-time stat updates. When you create a class, the stats are written into your profile and loaded when you connect to a server. A map change also reloads your profile, so it works the same way. You can simply use /reconnect or wait for the current match to end for the changes to apply.

All changes have been applied to every server running this mod.

@zzziplex

Yeah, it’s really cool, but it still needs some adjustments right now it’s in a testing phase.

If you run into issues like server command overflow, cl_cgameneedservercommand, or general disconnections while spectating, we’re already aware of them

YOB Mod Patch Note (v1.6 Final?)

  • Simplified UI/HUD elements
  • Hardpoint's animations fixed
  • Hardpoints can be called no matter what.*1
  • Changed Hardpoint layout: 3: radar 5: airstrike 10: helicopter 15: predator 20: artillery 25: reaper 50: nuke (ends the game instantly)
  • Changed Killstreak notification to the same layout. 3: RAMPAGE 5: DOMINATING 10: GODLIKE 15: UNREAL 20: INSANE 25: LEGENDARY 50: IMMORTAL WORLD DESTROYER
  • Changed Prestige System layout 13: Prestige 1 18: Prestige 2 23: Prestige 3 28: Prestige 4 33: Prestige 5 38: Prestige 6 43: Final prestige
  • Prematch spawn animation doesn't drops you from the sky, istead it moves you to the spawn location in a 'cinematic' way.
  • Ingame realtime stat system totally reworked.
  • Ingame ammo counter totally reworked.
  • Killcards totally reworked.
  • Added an "event" based system to all HUD elements of the game.*2
  • Predator and Reaper also had problems creating too much hud elems for the client(players or bots) so now they got a "+" crosshair. Much sexier
  • Globalized config and events.
  • Works perfectly with increased server fps and rate.
  • Mapvote no longer available.
  • Killstreak notification now has a "greyish" glow color instead of red.
  • Artillery now works without any lag.
  • Instead of disabling GL, now as an "engine-fix" we are controlling it, taking the _gl weapon and giving the normal weapon instead.
  • Instead of disabling "noob" perks, now as an "engine-fix" we are controlling it, taking certain perks and giving acceptable perks instead.
  • Nektum Shield's biggest scripts have been disabled for a few days until we truly test the system. Now only the serverside plugin is online.
  • Some HUD elements have been removed to save up some slots for the engine to not crash. Including the first kill hud & discord link.
  • Serious mod clean up as always.
